Posted @withrepost • @michelsonphilanthropies Dr. Gary K. Michelson recently visited the USC Michelson Center for Convergent Bioscience to celebrate its fifth anniversary.

The center, which leads research into cancer, cardiovascular disease, and other conditions, received a founding gift of $50 million from @alya.michelson and Dr. Michelson when it opened in 2017.

The Center houses state-of-the-art instrumentation and conducts groundbreaking work in nanofabrication, cryo-EM, and magnetic resonance imaging.

In partnership with Neighborhood Academic Initiati In partnership with Neighborhood Academic Initiative (NAI) this semester, the CURE Research Exploration And Career Help (REACH) program is leading a five-session workshop on “Hallmarks of Cancer” to 110 local high school students. These CURE students are leading Saturday morning sessions on different topics of cancer and the workshop will end with group research presentations this coming weekend.

We’re proud of the CURE students for their commitment to share their knowledge of cancer research and guide an amazing group of high school students.

Peter Kuhn and James Hicks of @uscmichelsoncsicancer. Tap the link in bio to read the piece.
